  • What are Wobblesticks?

    Ferrovac Wobblesticks are Swiss-made, magnetically coupled manipulators with bellows, designed for precise linear, rotary, and angular motion within ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems. The magnetic coupling allows for exact positioning and rotation, while the bellows enable flexible angular deflection. This design ensures shaft movements are unaffected by pressure differences, allowing for manipulation with minimal force. The all-metal sealing minimizes environmental impact on sensitive applications.

    Single-Shaft Wobblestick: enables rotational and linear motion. Designed for in-axis sample handling with end-effectors (e.g., GRABSHOM gripping tools) or for an in-vacuum screwdriver.

    Dual-Shaft Wobblestick: Optimizes sample handling with mechanical end-effectors (e.g., PGWMS(OM) pincers).

    ↪ Angular deflection:

    Enhanced workspace provided by larger bellows stacks for increased angular deflection.

    ↪ Flange:

    All Ferrovac Wobblesticks feature a DN40CF (Conflat Flange) for maximum UHV compatibility, sealed with CF40 copper gaskets (UHV) or Viton/rubber gaskets (HV).

    ↪ Retracted Length [mm]

    Indicates the minimum shaft extension from the DN40CF flange into the vacuum chamber when fully retracted.

    ↪ Linear Travel [mm]

    Defines the maximum shaft travel distance, determining the maximum extension into the vacuum chamber when added to the retracted length.

    HT Option (High Torque): (Single-shaft only) Delivers increased force for demanding manipulations and secure sample holder fastening, maintaining precision.
