Since 1996, Ferrovac has been developing magnetically coupled motion systems, making a significant contribution to precision and reliability in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems with the introduction of the first magnetic wobblestick manipulators.
Using magnetic coupling, motion is transferred from the atmosphere to the vacuum side of the system with almost no force, eliminating the need to work against the vacuum forces present in traditional bellows systems. This enables precise handling without the effects of pressure differences between the atmosphere and UHV.
