Ideally thermocouples are connected only to terminals and extension wires made of the same material as the thermocouple itself. It's ceramic isolator allows for temperatures up to 1250°C, which is the maximum use temperature of a K-Type thermocouple. Shapal M ceramics are fully UHV compatible.
